How to brûlée at home.
Torch at home: Sprinkle an even coat of sugar over your Crème. We prefer turbinado, but plain sugar will do the trick. Use a kitchen torch to evenly brûlée the top layer of sugar until it is completely melted for that sexy caramelized. Allow to cool, then crack and enjoy!
Without a torch at home: Turn your oven on to high broil. While it is heating up, sprinkle an even coat of turbinado or plain sugar over your Crème. Immediately place on the top rack with a sheet pan until the sugar is completely melted for that sexy caramelized top. This can take anywhere from 3-7 minutes depending on your oven and how long it was preheated. Remove from the oven and let it sit for about 1-2 minutes, then crack & enjoy!
